Joules is growing up and has had a busy Spring thus far. Joules competed in her first show gathering, the massive the Standard Schnauzer Club of America National Specialty at Schnauzapalooza 2019. She turned 2 on May 17 and soon after competed in the Prairieland Standard Schnauzer Club Specialty, earning a 5 point Major with her selection as Winner's Bitch. More shows are on deck for Joules this summer. Stay tuned.

2018 turned out to be a blur of home-based activity focused on just living and raising our wonderful girl, Joules. It was great to take a break from conformation showing and just do regular life things like gardening and spending time with the dogs doing nothing special.
It's always great to see the official Championship certificate from the American Kennel Club recognizing the quality of one of our standard schnauzers. We're proud of our Elka and grateful to the judges who awarded her conformation wins, which recognize her quality with respect to the standard schnauzer breed standard and her potential for excellent contribution to the future of the breed.
Elka is now American Kennel Club (AKC) Champion Dinsdale-Chimera Dragonfly!
Elka was shown to her AKC Championship entirely by me, her breeder, owner and handler. I am very proud of this lovely girl, who was awarded 4 major wins as she earned the required points for an AKC Championship. Elka is the daughter of our Flute (AKC Grand CH/CKC CH Dinsdale Champagne Flute, CGC) and the handsome Jethro (AKC CH Jethro Artax's Angels). Flute is a North American Schnauzer of Canadian and U.S. descent and Jethro is a European Schnauzer of Polish and Russian origins. We are very proud of Elka, who is the third puppy from this combination to earn a conformation championship, adding her bragging rights to those of siblings Rocket (Canadian Kennel Club Champion Chimera Dinsdale Rocketman VShiraz) and Ethel (AKC Champion In the Mood to Run in the Nude). UPDATE: Timing didn't end out working for this breeding, so plans were put on hold. Elka and Phantom both competed in the Heartland Standard Schnauzer Club Regional Specialty last week. In addition to enjoying themselves in the show ring, the couple got to meet and begin their courtship with some flirting and play. Puppy Joules wasn't sure what to make of this interruption to her quality time with cousin Elka! We look forward to one day having pups with this wonderful pair as their parents! Update: Life got in the way and we didn't do any breeding in 2018. We will post when our next breeding will take place, hopefully in 2019.
Chimera Standard Schnauzers is my passionate hobby. My focus is showing and having fun with my dogs and I rarely breed, usually a litter only every couple of years. This summer, however, having pups at Chimera was so much fun that I have decided to have another litter in 2018. We loved our puppies sired by the confident, friendly, and dashing Phantom (AKC Silver Grand Champion/International Champion Von Rose Masked Phantom), so we plan to breed him to our vibrant, devoted, and beautiful Elka (International Champion Dinsdale-Chimera Dragonfly). We expect the pups will be smart, fun, loving, and share the true schnauzer beauty of their outstanding parents. If you are interested in a Phantom & Elka puppy for the show ring, performance, or as a family companion, we'd love to hear from you. Completing our Contact form through our Pups page will reach us. Please let us know why you are interested in a Standard Schnauzer, what you plan to do with you schnauzer, your experience with dogs, your family composition, location, etc. Thank you. I want to thank everyone for their interest in offering George a good home. Happily, this past weekend, George (now Geordie) joined his new family at Shiraz Standard Schnauzers in Canada. Geordie's formal name is Chimera Curious George VShiraz. Thank you Judy Gooch for welcoming Geordie to a great new life! We look forward to hearing about his adventures in the future! Huge thank yous to Jackie Harris for these lovely photos of Geordie and to Carol Henning for helping wrangle the little man on such a hot day! Sweet puppy boy now available to the right home! Quill & Phantom's son is 10 weeks old, extremely cuddly, affectionate, self-confident, and people-oriented. My pick male of the litter, he will be a super, loving companion to the right family. He would also excel as a conformation show dog, if this was of interest to his new family.
Contact Chimera if you are interested in this wonderful boy. |
AuthorI'm Brooke. I am crazy about showing and very occasionally breeding standard schnauzers. My kennel name is Chimera, which is both a mythical beast and a foolish idea! Archives
