Pups are really growing and have been enjoying their "puppy play park" very much.

2 pups followed Quill outside of the puppy park and found themselves facing a big retaining wall and big steps to make it to the lower level where their mum waited. The first pup gamely chased right after Quill and plunged down the steps and raced merrily along. Brave girl!! The second pup paused at the top of the wall, looked down and around, then checked out the steps. "Don't think so," concluded this pup. Back to the puppy park and waiting siblings he went. Another day, little fellow. Pups experienced different surfaces, textures, and footings this week. Some things required climbing. some tunneling, and some required balance, even while moving under paws. Pups did great and took all this in proper schnauzer stride. It's been a big week for pups and Quill. Pups moved out from their puppy room to a large play and sleep pen with separate elimination area. Located between our kitchen and living room, pups are now central to the household activities and getting used to human and canine traffic and the sounds and events of daily life. Pups are also getting their sharp baby teeth and have started weaning off of Quill's milk with meals of goat milk, plain pumpkin puree, and full fat plain yogurt. Quill is spending less time with the pups as she works to lessen the amount of nursing they do, but she still really enjoys cuddling and playing with them. Adults Elka, Flute, and grandma Kit are all eager schnauzer "aunties" vying for the attentions of the babies. Goodbye puppy room ... it's been fun ... Hello puppy pen! New adventures begin! Pups make great models for photos and "actors" in their own reality videos. You can find videos of Quill & Phantom's pups on our youtube channel, as well as videos featuring Chimera's schnauzers and past litters .

AuthorI'm Brooke. I am crazy about showing and very occasionally breeding standard schnauzers. My kennel name is Chimera, which is both a mythical beast and a foolish idea! Archives
